		<description>I&#039;d be interested in knowing how your have progressed with matplotlib for plotting climate-type data, and if you have any scripts to share yet. I&#039;m in the same boat, using almost exclusively scripted freeware like CDAT, python, perl, and R for analysis. For plotting I have used R for a few things, but mostly GMT for it&#039;s powerful spatial capabilities. matplotlib+basemap seems capable of many of the same things, but it&#039;s a big step, and I don&#039;t see a lot of examples out there.</description>
